Happy Friday! This week has been a busy one. Starting the week with a Halloween party can make everyone a little tired and cranky.
Today we did a fun reading activity with the whole school. The students were placed in multi-grade level groups with an assigned teacher. These groups will remain the same and we will be meeting two times during the year. Every group read and discussed the same book. The book we read today was Horton Hatches an Egg. I enjoyed having all of the different grade levels in my room. When it came to discussion it was interesting to hear how everyone felt about the story. We discussed our school virtues and how Horton used the virtues. I can't wait to meet with my group in the spring and share another story.
Next week we will begin our study of fables. Each year the students enjoy reading all of the different fables and discussing the moral behind each one. My favorite fable has always been the tortoise and the hair.
